Great! It looks pretty cool and I might be able to hide my XM antenna with it as well.

Regarding the SharkFin from Visual Garage, has anyone taken any kind of measurements or done any experiments on the impact on receiption?

I'm not exactly thrilled with the receiption of the radio using the standard antenna and the Visual Garage SharkFin form factor may make it worse.

    Thanks.

I'm all but positive that reception will be worse. Almost has to be. But I rarely listen to radio much anyway, so *any* reception is OK by me.

Thanks Danny! Looking forward to it. My new silver '06 just came home from the dealer moments ago!

I guess I'll get one, even if it's more cool-looking than receptive.

'Fractal' did make me chuckle a bit...

I can't say how it's implemented in this "shark fin" design, but fractal antenna designs are "real".

OK, but the reception had better not suck, given the new expectations that site has raised. Even if they didn't design the finny one...

Ok - so how does this group buy thing work? Do we all have to order at once or is it a situation where we get a coupon code or something and enter our orders individually online?

    Thanks,
    Brian

We're probably going to end up adding it to the PriusChat Shop (http://www.priuschat.com/shop) at a discounted price. I'm still working on getting a bigger reduction in cost for a group buy to get sales kicked off.

I'll give the details as I have them. Stay tuned.

Please report back as to whether the Sharkfin is big enough to cover your XM antenna and if satellite reception still works!

Can't say if it's big enough to cover it, but I have my Sirius antenna mounted inside my spoiler (like the post from Nateprius) and reception is fine. I can't imagine that the shark fin would pose anymore signal resistance than the rear spoiler of the car.

Do we need to enter a special code. At the beginning of the purchase process, it shows as price of $92.00. I stopped at that point. Is it discounted later in the purchase process?

Sorry about that - colors are added now, as tcooper185 noted. The cost should be $62 - are you sure you didn't have a Heatshield or something else in your cart at the same time?

Whoever gets it, please post how well it works and any pictures. They look pretty good, though.
