Mine is the original DSO Nano. The single channel hasn't been an issue for me, but I basically use it as a slightly more elaborate voltmeter, so I could see it becoming limiting in more complicated situations. The Open Logic Sniffer thing does look nice too, I noticed it for sale at Seeed Studio when I ordered my ADK board. The Salae seems a little more mature, though, and potentially easier to extend to recognize BEAN communications.

I would like to know the PIN layout of Prius OBD port.
Are there any PINs connected to AVC-LAN and BEAN (or LIN) bus?

PIN 6 and 14 are for CAN bus.
PIN 9, 11, 13 are connected, but do not know their protocol.

Maybe a Logic Sniffer is needed to discover it.
    Anyone has tried it?

    Awesome.

I just want to shout out here. I am buying a 2008 Prius this Saturday, and I'm poking around here to see what I can do with it. I really liked reading what you guys have come up with here, and I hope you keep going. As luck would have it, I have a lot of experience with the IOIO, so if you still are considering which MCU, feel free to ask about it. It can't do bit banging from java exactly, but transmitting a bunch of bytes in a row can be faked with the SPI interface. It is using a PIC24FJ256GB204, I think. The eagle files and firmware are open source, and it's trivial to write new firmware for it. In fact, if you keep the IOIO bootloader, you can load updates to the app layer with your android device. Also, there was a project in the ioio-dev forum where someone edited the code to work with a 28 pin through hole PIC. I tried it, and had a lot of fun with that (it cost about $20, for everything). I would really like to get it onto the AVC-LAN, and start messing up the climate control :D. I'm sure it could change the audio source, but I'm not convinced it's a good idea to send audio data to play through it directly, it would make more sense to use either the headphone jack, or a bluetooth headphone adaptor, then just have the IOIO choose the aux jack as the source. There was recently released another version that will also connect to a PC, and be controlled via Java, and the new version is $40.

Really good stuff. Have either of you found the AVC-LAN wires, or tried to sniff the line *ahem*, so to speak.

So, were you able to replace the MFD with a tablet or something?
