Please help! Newbie here and problem with backlight

    Hello I just bought an 05 prius with the jbl CD player and tape player, my question since I've had it the backlighting for the cd/radio buttons will not work. The player and radio work great but at night I can't see buttons such as am/fm/scan ect. I have tried looking at all the fuses and they are all fine. I am at my wits end and don't know what else to try. Has anyone else had this problem or can help me fix this. Thank you

    The T10 bulb that illuminates that area must have burned out. Check Sylvania.com to confirm the bulb type for your instrument lighting.

    Replacement is a whole other issue. The dashboard will need to be disassembled to replace the bulb(s).

    So should i get the dealer to do it or try to do it myself? Any idea on how much that will cost?

    Also would that bulb include the side buttons beside the navigation screen? Those are not illuminating as well.

    It does not list the bulb size for the instrument panel lighting, but it is most likely the 168/T10 bulb size.

    Google Prius instrument panel/dashboard removal/disassembly and look for YouTube videos or blogs/guides to help you decide whether you want to take this on.
