I am a happy Prius'06 owner and read this forum from time to time, but that's not the point.

I've been tracking my gas station receipts and mileage for a long time in Excel, calculating the average L/100km (MPG). Recently my attention went to the web-sites doing the same like I did in Excel. But I hesitate using any of them as the fuel efficiency tracking feature is just a small part of those sites. I'm talking about: cleanmpg.com, greenhybrid.com, spritmonitor.de, brianbauer.com, are there more?

The user-interface of these sites is ugly and usability is low. Some are working with MPG only. I'm a web-developer and think I can do better. For example: rechnung-plus.de, fuskersearch.com.

So now my question to the community: is there a need for nice Web 2.0 fuel and mileage tracking site where you will have nice charts and entering data will be less pain? I can also think of automatic import of the entered data from the above sites (you need to supply your login then). Would you switch to the better site?

    All opinions are welcome.

I use www.fuelly.com as I find the interface simple and easy to use. Also, they have different options such as USA mpg, UK mpg (a US gallon is slightly smaller than a UK gallon!) and also litres.

I'm sure others have different suggestions but give fuelly a look and see if it works for you.

That's lovely! That's roughly about how I wanted it. Thanks a lot. I guess I'll not need to develop my own site then...

Glad it helped. Also, you can switch between the different options so you can easily convert litres per 100 km to USA mpg and vice versa, which can assist when looking at posts on this site.

You can also add a signature on your profile like I've done on mine showing your averages.

There is an option on the fuelly website on the left hand side next to your vehicle stats. Add this text to the signature section of your PriusChat profile and it should then display your upto date stats.

What exactly does it look like? I am not sure what to add in my signature. Thanks.

You will need a fuelly account and then whilst looking at your vehicle stats page - graphs showing monthly and weekly averages, there is an option on the left hand side somewhere (often near the bottom left) that says 'Want to share your fuel economy on forums, blogs....etc'. Click the option that says 'Get your own fuelly badge' and follow the instructions.

Just copy the text and then pop back to your Prius Chat profile and add that copied text to your signature. It should then display the fuelly badge at the bottom of your posts, like so \/ \/ \/

^Looks like it's working to me. I don't think it gives an average until after the second tank?
