    Hello all!! Happy Thursday!!

so, i know i posted on here about my car battery a little while ago about how to charge it and that has been working. but i have been noticing that my battery goes up and down a lot, mostly between 50% and 20-30%...is this normal? i had battery and gas gauge issues in the truck i traded in for my prius so im a little paranoid lol. is there something that i can be doing more/less of to help my battery? mines a 2004 so there is no plug in way to charge it. if this is normal, especially for this hot hot weather we've been having in CO, please let me know :)

    thanks all!!

The Prius is not an electric vehicle, and the battery is meant to go up and down. When you see 1 bar on the MFD you have about 40% battery left and the engine will automatically come on to recharge up to at least 2 bars, usually 3 bars. When you have 8 bars, you are at 80% full capacity and the engine will automatically start spinning without fuel to waste energy and bring it down.

Are you getting your percentage numbers from a scangauge, or just guessing based on the 8 bars on the screen?

Basically, don't worry about it. If every time you get going you go down to 1 bar, and every time you stop it goes up to 8 bars, then you can worry. If it is mostly blue, sometimes 7-green and sometimes 2-purple, it is working normally.

If there is a fault the car will flash a warning up.
