Hi guys, I'm a newb to the forum and on my first prius. I just purchased a used 2010 prius level 3, with the tech pkg 5 days ago. It's quite an impressive piece of automotive technology. My son and I like the car so much that he traded his car in for a prius plug in 2 days ago. We're glad to be part of the prius family, now if I can stop trying to stretch my mileage and concentrate on where I'm going, lol.

I would suggest if a redundant question really puts you out then take away the Newbie section. You gave your side of why you people who have been on here for awhile get irritated. Coming from a Newbie standpoint, remember you all were Newbies at one time or another. If something is going to upset you, I would suggest you move on to another section in the forum or try to have patience. This should be a place where people who have questions that they do not know should feel comfortable coming to so that they can ask the question. I was on here before and all the negative crap that the so-called Senior Members or Moderators or whatever else you call yourself tried to send my way was a huge turn-off. You do not know a person's history, why they are asking the questions, what they have done to find the answer to the question(s) etc. the arrogance and superior attitude that came from many of you was a real turn off. Again if this is something that really bothers you, take away this forum, or do what you feel you "experts" need to do so that you will not have a heart attack because somebody asked a question you feel they should know. However, if you really want to help people who do not have the knowledge you have then that is a great thing. Don't make a big case about it, if it really bothers you that the question is being asked, for whatever reason, go on to another question. You attitude in the way you treat new people to the Prii just reflects this website and will only give your website a bad name. what would really be a great approach and attitude to take if something really bothers you is to nicely explain to the person that this question has been asked and can be found by.....whatever your website has in place to search for past questions. what bothers you there is an alternative that bothers people who do not have the knowledge that you think everyone should have and that is the arrogance some of the members show to people who do not have the answers. it might make your ego get its fill, but to the average person it makes you look like a jerk. if you want to help people who do not know as much as you apparently do, that is a good thing, but to make a big deal about your superior knowledge level and making a big deal about it makes you look like a fool in others eyes. Big deal if you have a lot of knowledge about a certain car. use it to help people because when you act like a question is putting you out, that makes you look like to fool and not the Newbie who asked the question. Try to get a mindset that helping people is a good thing and should give you a good feeling knowing that you did just that.
