That's the one I just bought. But I haven't tried it yet. I did some cross checking and it appears right. I'll know for sure when I actually do the job for the first time on my "new to me" 2010.
I bought that exact model over a year ago and have used it several times. It's an exact fit for the Gen III Prius.
I purchased the Assenmacher filter wrench about 2 weeks ago. It works great. It also has great reviews. The stamped steel wrenches will not remove a very tight filter. It would be nice if the Assenmacher filter wrench still had a 3/8" square drive hole so a ratchet or extension could fit it directly instead of using a 15/16" socket. I may have to do some machining on mine.
When did they stop providing the 3/8" hole in the back of the filter wrench? That was one of the nicest features.
I read it in the reviews and when I received my wrench, it did not have the hole. It now has a 15/16" hex.
Bought that one as well. Mine also has the 15/16" Hex. I've not used it yet, but will in the next few weeks.
Good idea. I currently break the filter cover lose (1/2 turn or so) from the engine- then remove the ratchet and give the filter wrench a couple of taps to break it lose from the filter cover. I like your method better if it works. I'll try it on my next oil change!
