There's a web site for a high-class Nevada brothel that I had a peek at a few years ago. They would not say what a typical rate was, and they would delete any post in which someone reported what he had paid. But what they did say was that, by Nevada law, there are no standard rates. Every transaction is negotiated between the lady and her customer. Of course it's to the lady's advantage for the customer to be ignorant of what she or others have charged in the past. I would guess that an ugly man would have to pay more than a handsome one. What they do say is that the brothel gets half of what the customer pays, and if you take the free limo which is offered by the brothel as well as by private limo companies, the limo driver gets half as well, though I don't know whether the brothel or the limo driver gets the first half. Probably the brothel because I'd imagine the brothels are owned by the mob. The lady could end up with just 1/4 of what the customer pays.

Anyway, I have no idea what they actually charge, since I could get no idea from the web site, and reports from individuals will be colored by what class of brothel they attended and whether the particular lady found them repulsive or not.

"High class" means the lady is attractive, has been tested for STDs, and makes a good show of pretending to actually like the customer. Low class means the lady is not attractive, has not been tested, and makes no effort to pretend to enjoy it. High-class brothels assure that all their ladies meet the former standards. Your chances of getting an STD at a high-class brothel are far lower than with a random pick-up at a bar. Of course, a random pick-up at a bar might actually enjoy it, and might actually like you.

I'm writing this entire post out of boredom, since I have no actual experience with any of it. I often wonder how my life would have been different if girls had found me attractive. Maybe I'd have been happily married now, with kids and grandkids. But I'd never have gone to prison (an experience I would not want to have missed) or lived in Mexico and Spain, and I'd probably never have discovered hiking in the mountains of British Columbia. Or maybe I'd be paying alimony to three ex-wives and have nothing left over to enjoy life with. I'd probably never have taken up jogging, in which case I'd probably have died of a heart attack ten years ago, at the same age as my uncle and my paternal grandfather.

One never knows.
