Does anyone have any ideas for a steering wheel improvement as the one provided with my 2012 v 5 is plastic and not great. I am hoping to find one that feels good but also looks nice and not sloppy. (My son's PS3 Logitech video game controller leather wrapped steering wheel is so much nicer than my Prius v wheel.)

Several options available. Steering wheel covers like Wheelskins are real leather. I have a Wheelskins cover on our wheel and am happy with it. I agree the OEM wheel is very cheap feeling and unpleasant.

JDM Prius steering wheels are available in all leather, partial leather/partial wood, etc.

Many threads in PriusChat discussing these.

I agreed what is said above!!!
I am currently using it. Extremely useful, this steering wheel cover is not just pretty but ensures safety as well. The adorable cover assures better handling no matter what the temperature is.

Just the side note in case someone decides to get one. When you remove the old steering wheel, you MUST disconnect the battery (the 12 V. one in the back of the trunk) to protect the air bag from accidently activated. In doing so, you have to leave the trunk open because if you close it with the battery disconnected, you won't be able to open it from the outside like you usually do! You have to climb over the back seats, remove the panel in the back of the trunk and manually open it.

I'd like something that will go in the lower part of the wheel where the wheel connects, so when i use my thumb to turn the wheel around, it doesn't feel like a meat grinder removing the flesh from the bone. The rest of the wheel has nice curves that fit hands and fingers, but those lower ones make a sharp "V" that is a bit uncomfortable...

Depend on where you buy, at the time it was the best price I found, especially compare to the one above from Japan plus $98.00 shipping.!!
