I recently purchased a 2005 prius. The brake light ((!)) consistently comes on when the vehicle gets up to 64-67 mph. Powering the car off and back on will turn the brake light off, until I get back up to 64-67 mph again. Is there a speed sensor or something speed related in the brake system that could be triggering the brake light? I believe an ABS sensor may have been changed before I bought the car. Thanks in advance for any guidance. Dave
Yes, you have speed sensors (ABS sensor) on each of the four wheels. If one of these is not set correctly it can give you the brake light that you indicate.
Its most likely what JD says but please check brake fluid level also. As pads wear fluid goes down. You didn't mention miles but 2005 may have alot.
Yes, check your brake fluid levels. Also check that all your tires the same type and similar wear. Make sure there isn't an "odd one out".
