Hi! I just traded my 2008 Mazdaspeed 3 for a 2005 Prius with 106k miles. I think the Prius is trim package #6. As much as I loved the MS3, I got tired of the gas mileage and wanted something more comfortable for when I'm stuck in traffic. No more smoking turbos or chewed up tires every 10k miles. The Prius isn't any less fun to drive, it's just fun in a completely different way.

I haven't had it even 24 hours yet, but my 30 mile commute in traffic was much more comfortable, although I'm afraid that the status screen will be the death of me. I still reach into my pocket for my keys and I've had an instinctive freak-out a few times when the ICE turned off thinking my car had died, but then I smile when I realize what happened.

This car scratches a deep, nerdy itch. Spark plugs and transaxle fluid are on deck for this weekend, but otherwise all of the routine maintenance had been taken care of before I bought it.

    Welcome!

Like yourself, I just got a 2005 Prius (has 62K miles on it).

I'm coming from a Civic SI so I feel your pain (a little less since your MPG was less than my SI) regarding traffic, tires, premium gas, etc.

    Enjoy! (y)

296,000 miles here. It's by no means perfect, but it runs and drives every day.
