Just want to publicly thank all who supported us on this forum. As part of the acquisition, I have been hired by Dorman Products as their Hybrid Product Development Manager.

My new position will be to develop replacement parts for hybrid cars that are most wanted by the vehicle owners, so if any of you want to give me your most wanted lists, I will begin working on making them available.
Our business model is centered on replacing only the part that breaks, instead of the entire component.
I can be reached directly at [email protected]

    Thanks,

Will you remain in Sanford, NC and will the Sanford facility remain with business as usual except for the Dorman name change?

We will continue our production in Sanford, NC in an expanded space with only the name changing. All Re-Involt warranties will be honored by Dorman as well.

    Thanks

I know you are dedicated to battery tech, but you did say "most wanted parts." How about a solution to the dreaded Hydrocarbon Trap in the cat converter. Such an unbelievably expensive point of failure that can literally kill these cars and make them completely uneconomical to fix. You would be my savior to say the least! Lol! I may need a new battery in the future, and I have always heard nothing but good things about you guys!!

Hi I am currently in need of a hybrid battery and seem to have just missed the boat as when attempting to contact dorman they said I can only order through a corporate company that has an account and they couldn't even give me pricing. I had hoped to save shipping costs by driving with the core to pick up the new part. Any suggestions as to how to cut costs? Seems this is the only game in town now. Thanks for your innovations and I may need a transaxle as well as an invertor

Look like Dorman will not sell to individual owners. Replacement part will be sold through auot parts retailers.

On the Dorman website, it list many carriers such as Advanced Auto, Pep Boys, etc, however when I contact them, they tell me they cannot order the battery, or more specifically, it is not in their system. Is there a part number or something I can give them or is this limited to select shops?

    Gen1 Prius is 587-000
    Gen2 Prius is 587-001

Some parts chains are just getting these entered into their systems and may need a little coaching to push an order through. I know CARQUEST has sold some units.

The manufacturing will remain in Sanford, but all distribution will be through Dormans normal venues, which include all major parts chains.

    Thanks.

Will I be able to purchase a remanufactured battery directly from the Sanford facility or will I have to go through one of the major parts chains?

Order directly through most any parts chain like CARQUEST, NAPA Oreilly or Advance. Gen1 Prius is 587-000 and Gen2 Prius is 587-001
