Do perfomance (horsepower/torque/handling) modifications for the 2003 Prius exist through TRD? I was thinking along the lines of upgraded suspension systems, or turbos.

I'm thinking about upgrading a 2003 because I can't seem to get warm and fuzzy about the third generation 04/05 body style, so I was looking for alternatives.

    Thanks,

    Hi folks,
The latest edition of the Oz electronics magazine Silicon Chip (March 2006) has an article titled "The World's Most Highly Modified Hybrid Petrol/Electric Car"
Apparently they have done various mods to a 2003 model (NW10), resulting in much improvement in power output and also better fuel figures.
It discusses some of what they did, not a "how to do it" instruction.
In summarising, they say some of the mods include anti-sway bar, electronically modifed electric power steering, on-dash mixture indication, electronically controlled high pressure intercooler water spray,under-floor aerodynamic changes and other bits and pieces.
    Results quoted:
    Engine power increased to 53kw
    Electric power increased to 33kw
    Hill climbing improved 80%
    100kph open road fuel useage = 5.5 L/100Km
    Driven hard = 5.8L/100Km
I don't know if the mag. is sold in US, but they have a website here.
