Greetings, and welcome to Prius Chat.

Honestly, your question is not very clear and the subject line is misleading (ultra gage).

Can you please clarify what your question is and or what you are trying to do. If I had to guess, I would think you are questioning the amount of fuel you purchased when you filled up and or you are trying to figure out if the fuel gage is accurate on your car.

Again, more information would help all of us here to correctly answer your questions and or give you sound advice.

It would also be a good idea to update your profile with your location as UK, Japanese, and American Model's of Prius do vary.

    Best of luck to you.

If your question is how to tweak the fuel calibration of the UltraGauge after the first fillup, the ScanGaugeII manual says not to adjust after the first fillup but after the second. For the SGII you go to Display Fillup and the first item is the amount of gallons. As you adjust up or down from their guesstimate it adds a calibration factor.

The UltaGauge is the scaled down version of the SGII so I would guess they have similar menus.

Ok, I admit I did not know about the product called "Ultragage". I am a old timer who doesn't get out much any more. Thanks to jd for prodding my mind and making me do some research.

Now, getting back to the original question.

There are a couple of different models of the Ultragage. The newer one is the EM version. There is a lot of info online concerning this product as well as owner manuals etc.

    Google

First advice is to refer to the manual for more information.

On page 38 of the attached PDF file, you will find the instructions on how to calibrate the Ultragage EM for fuel usage.

Best of luck to you, and I do apologize for not being aware of the product you are working with.

You're referring to the PDF manual, right? (link to PDF)
What part are you having trouble with? The instructions in the PDF are pretty clear to me. You fill up, tell it the tank is full, reset a couple things, and then enter the actual gallons used the next time you fill up. I've never had to calibrate it in any of my vehicles other than entering the correct engine and tank size.

Edit: dorunron beat me to it.

thanks so much for all the quick replies! i'll try to be more clear. first, the '08s gas gauge is notoriously wrong...underreporting.... nearly half a tank when it shows nearly empty. anyway, when i fill up, using the gauge, i'll manually insert how much gas i've actually pumped in... following the pdf directions... however, when i get out of menu, back to the main screen, the gauge shows me how much i've just pumped, not reporting a full tank.
