I didn't have any noticeable problems with them. Doesn't seem to get excessively hot or sweaty, if that's what you mean. As others have said, its very grippy, which has is good for keeping you in place, but makes it a little harder to slide in and out.

The Softex in our v is as comfortable and cool as the leather in Lexus RX that we traded in. We bought the v around September 1 and the next month to six weeks was still plenty hot here in south central Texas- well up into the 90s. My bride did several long road trips the first couple of months we had the car and had no issues at all with the seats being too hot.

Polyester?? Really? I haven't worn a leisure suit since the late 70s. (y)

The imitation leather holds up better than the real stuff.

Had the car through winter and summer. Had Softex "dealer" installed. Like it. Previous car had leather. Wife's car has leather. I don't notice a difference worth mentioning.

The SofTex in my wife's Prius v reminds me of the synthetic MB-Tex in the Mercedes 240D I drove through the 1980's - feels oddly "clammy" to my butt and back. I wouldn't notice it as much if the real leather in my Lexus LS didn't feel so much cooler when I drive it and the Prius back-to-back every week or two to wash and fuel them.

I would much rather have a good cloth than synthetic leather but the SofTex is better for my wife since she thinks she has to eat in "her" cars - something that has never been allowed in "my" cars.

Had leather in my 4Runner that I traded for our Rav4 with Softex. Also have Softex in our Prius v. No complaints on the Softex and the v seats look great after 24k. The 4Runner leather seats had creases in the bolsters after 38k because you had to climb up into the vehicle. We'll see how the Rav Softex holds up, but they are some of the best Toyota seats I've planted my behind into.

Just curious if the owner's manual says to simply clean up the Softex seats with damp cloth (water).

Hell, if I didn't eat in my cars I might lose weight!

Had leather in lots of cars including Avalons, Acuras, BMWs and Porsches. Got softex because I didn't like the cloth on the armrests and doors. Been sitting on it at 100F and 7F. Very satisfied. Since my car was a 3, I got the distributor's kit installed locally and didn't bother with the heated seats. If it is that cold, I'll be wearing flannel-lined jeans.
