To vid the rear window wiper we used a rear facing camera powered from the cigarette lighter outlet. We can just reach up and pb the camera and see whats behind. No drilling, no magnets, its held on a big suction cup. Check GoPro for hardware; we've successfully used the forward facing for many years in racing applications so its sturdy and reliable.

 

How did you pop the black insert out? I tried but it wont come out easily could you teach me the right way to do it?

 

There are just two tab on either side of the tab on the 2010. Mine slid a little toward the card and with a plastic spackle tool I was able to coax one side free the then the other.

 

I have a Generation III 2010 Prius Base model without factory Backup Camera. If I install the OttoNavi model of camera, does the output of the camera attach to a factory input? Will the camera image appear in the Data Information Display on the Prius, or will I have to get an aftermarket display device?

 

Does anyone know if any one of these cameras will be a direct fit to the Prius c trunk hatch license light? They all kinda look similar to the prius c lamp cover.

I have the Beat Sonic kit, plug and play harness and Camera that replaces the liscense plate bolt. no drilling and easy install.

It was a straight setting, or do you have to mod anything, example the reverse trigger, do you connect to reverse light or go to the pin #2 on the 28 pin connector, etc.

 

it was a plug and play, so you have to disconnect a connector from the stock HU and the adapter harness goes inbetween, then you just have to provide power for it, very straight forward and they even provide you with really cool wire taps. The harness automatically activates video switching and power for the camera when you engage reverse gear.

 

My question is: what does the output from the camera get displayed on in the Prius? Does it go to the Instrument cluster? I have a stock 2010 Base Prius. Standard radio, no LCD screen.

that camera is a sweet innovation, but dammm, it costs an arm and a leg and you have to buy the harness separately...We need other camera makers to start making screw cameras
