I've been searching for an inverter for the HV battery but I'm not having much luck. All of the inverters I've found are too expensive. I've looked through the Priups site and prius chat but I'm not having much luck.

I'd prefer a 200 VDC to 120V AC inverter but I would accept a 200 VDC to anywhere between 12 VDC to 40 VDC. A 2 kW to 3kW is preferred.

Does anyone have a recommendation or part numbers?

There are many switching type power supplies that are rated for 100-250VAC as input. That allows them to be used anywhere in the world (Japan-100VAC, US-120VAC, the rest 220-240VAC). Typically they are used in computer and industrial systems.

The input power for these are immediately rectified to DC, so they don't care if they get DC or AC power, they will run just fine. Better with DC in fact. They don't have any input breaker in many cases, so that would have to be supplied.

Check out Meanwell power supplies for example. Not that expensive if you can use 24VDC or 48VDC.

Suggest "Converdant.biz." Various "kits" up to 5va 120/240v. One of the inverters may be available on eBay. [We have a 1kw 12v to 120v "true sine wave" that I installed (most parts via Amazon) that is our back-up supply, but would like to have 240 for our water well]
