i have a 2010 prius v with adv. tech package. its fully loaded so i assume it should have the usb port as well next to the aux input. i visited my bro out of state last week that has the exact same car and he has the usb port. it even shows in the audio menu as the last option when a usb flash drive was plugged in. in my car however i don't see this on the audio menu. i do see a slot next to the aux input but it's very tight and i was not able to get a usb in there.
so does every prius come with a usb port or is it just on some prius v's or did they add it later model years maybe? i know my prius is a very early model build (aug 2009 for 2010 model). thanks!

Hi RudeBoiM3, how did you go with the dealer? I'm in the similar situation in Australia and was wondering if it is even doable

I figured I could sync music using Bluetooth on my iphone so have no need for a USB slot in the car.

Weird. Mine comes with Nav and doesn't have Bluetooth streaming. I can't sync music using Bluetooth. 2010 model produced on 2009. The Nav screen is black with light green lines. Do you have the same version?

Yep same problem. Gromaudio might help with an interface kit.

You should have it. A2DP music streaming over BT was new w/the 2010 model year and back then. You should have with (OEM) nav package or above (Toyota Vehicles : Toyota Announces Prices for 2010 Prius / Toyota).

A bit crude, but it works on my early(June 09) 10 Prius 2 without nav. A little $20 MP3 player / modulator that uses a USB thumb drive and plugs into power socket and transmits FM to the radio. Music quality ain't bad, as good as the base AM/ FM /CD can play.

That is so weird. How come Australia is behind even though they are the same spec?

You must have a late example of early production. As already mentioned the USB port was added in the Fall and the price was increased. Safety Connect was added in November 2009 and the price was increased again.

The head unit might be totally different on the Australian version than the US version. Got a link to a pic of the head units on yours?

But yeah, it's unfortunate as I hear the Aussie Priuses are WAY expensive vs. what cost here in the US.

Yeah a 2010 Prius I Tech was $53500 AUD. Currency was about the same as US then. Price was dropped to $47000 at end of 2010.
