And I paid considerably less than that for the one I bought here a few months ago (and the only one I've seen listed recently).

Call me a cynic but somehow I suspect those ebay ones aren't exactly legit...I suspect a good number of newly delivered PiP's are going to be missing their cables. Interesting that that seller seems to specialize in all the bits and pieces that are easily pulled from brand-new cars before delivery...

Do you think PiPs are leaving dealer lots without the EVSE charging cable? I agree though, sounds a little suspicious.

No, I think they are going missing somewhere between the ship and the dealer. The dealer will have to replace them on Toyota's dime.

Anyone know if 3rd parties are involved in the transport of vehicles from the receiving shipyard to the dealerships? I think the distribution chain for my PiP was Toyota all the way. If that's the general rule, it would be happening within Toyota's distribution chain.

Any Toyota dealers here past or present who can speak to this and if new OEM EVSE is available outside of Toyota? Sure you could buy it from Toyota then resell it, but that would be at a loss.

$500 for an L1 is not going to happen. You'll be lucky to get half that.

There is a double whammy. People are buying so many L2 stations that the L2 prices are dropping like a rock into previously L1 territory which then only further accelerates the purchases of L2 units and the L1's are left behind.

I use the L1 included in my Leaf and will probably pick up a couple more. I have seen some go for just over $100, you just have to look around. So that's what I am waiting for.

    Naaah.
Somehow I don't think that Pip buyers are forgetting to make sure that the EVSE cable is included with the purchase.
Toyota charges you over $800 for "delivery" fees....and part of that is to ensure that all of the pieces/parts that come with the car....come with the car.
If they're getting shanked by their contractors?
    That's on them.

I will comment about my recently purchased EVSE as soon I will have it on my hands. Certainly I have the original to compare

Today evening I received the extra EVSE I purchased trough the eBay seller.
It is an OEM piece with the original OEM bubble wrap, not a copy or knock-off product.
Exactly in the the same conditions than my original one.
Now I will be able to courtesy charge as necessary when needed and my EV friends too.

Nice to have an EVSE at home and one in the PiP. Less hassle and less regret when you have an easy and unexpected charging opportunity on the road.

Sell it on E-bay; or take the $ 250.00 that CHESLEYN offered you.
    Good luck :) !!
