Getting the CPO is good. The 12 month 12,000 mile warranty is tacked onto the existing 3 year 36,000 warranty.

We put on about 1,500 miles driving ours home from Colorado the past few days. We averages 45mpg. Great considering we drove it through the Rockies, the Black Hills, and at 75 mph (Speed Limit) through South Dakota in cold weather.

I love everything about the car except the road noise can get loud at times.

The remote buying experience went well. The dealer picked us up at the airport and drove us to the dealership 1.25 hours away free of charge. They were also kind enough to buy us breakfast as well.

The car had more options than advertised. It is a five and not a four. The original owner had the dealer install tinted windows, the paint protection package, door moldings and door edge guards.

The loan officer who we filled out our paperwork with was visibly upset with the price we were paying on the car. He commented that once Toyota financing corrected them on it being a five and not a four, he realized we were getting a $30,000 car for $23,500. I just sat there with a big fat smile on my face as I knew that fact before we even flew out there.

I would not want to be in the guy taking the flack in the "meetings" that I am sure took place as soon as we drove off the lot.

I hope your remote buying experience goes as well as ours!

^Awesome! I am sure it must have been priceless to see their smile go away when they realized it was a five :)
Do post the pictures of the car!

You might want to look at this one. I really thought about it when I was searching for a new Prius. A 2013 Five AT with less than 1,000 miles.

    [Update]
I finally got my beautiful Prius today! I haven't updated this thread for some time and quite a few things changed in between:

As I had mentioned earlier in this thread, I was all set to buy a 2012 Prius five, but then there were some issues with the blower/AC and the dealer was not very responsive. To me it looked as if the dealer was trying to wash his hands off and transfer all the unresolved issues to me (and to let me sort it out with my local dealer here). But despite this, I was still set to buy the car since I thought it was a nice deal.

By chance, when I was looking in cars.com on Sunday, I found a newly listed 2013 Prius five but without any pictures or description - Just that it had 10k miles. Based on my earlier experience in these websites, I was skeptical whether the car was genuinely Prius 5 and also whether it had AT package. However I just sent an email asking them to upload some pictures. Next day the dealer called me (the dealer was located 250 miles away) and asked me how he can help: I asked him to upload pictures and asked for carfax. He said he would do it. At this point, I was still skeptical of car being Prius 5 and with AT package.

The next day, the dealer sent me an email saying he had uploaded nearly 45 pictures of the car. I said I would take a look at it. When I did, to my surprise I found that it was indeed Prius 5 and also with AT package and certified hybrid with clean car fax report and asking for < $23k! I knew at once that this was the car I had to buy! The dealer told me that this was a loaner car for 7 months in their showroom and so technically this was not a 'used car' - All the more better! After showing my interest and further negotiation, I was able to reduce the price for under $22k and including no frills delivery to Austin (The dealer apparently is a very big dealership with more than 100 showrooms across US) I did all the paperwork electronically and today morning, they came to my house. The car looked practically brand new! Then I took it to local Toyota dealership and had a vehicle buyer's check done. They did all the check and said everything's fine and after detailed inspection they said everything looks almost brand new inside. That was the last nod of approval I wanted. 1 hour and breakfast later, I had signed all the papers and walked away with my 2013 Prius! I couldn't have been happier!

Thanks a lot for all the help I received over last few weeks! I almost feel like I am part of a big family! Going ahead, I am sure I will be asking a lot more questions and hopefully contribute to the forum too.

Post pic's :) I'd say that was a screamin deal. Amazing how much a $34k car looses $10k plus in less than a year. Is it because gas prices fell so much?

^I feel the reason I got this deal was probably because it was a loaner car and they would have got it new for < MSRP and don't have to jack up the price later because of trade in or other factors. The other reason was probably because the dealer was based in a very small city in Texas and I don't think Prius is a big seller there. I saw through true value that the car costs $21.5k. So I guess the dealer did not lose any money on it but did not make any money either. I am sure if it was a trade in based in Austin, they wouldn't have sold for < 24k. I might be wrong but that's my theory
