Just giving back a bit to the forum.

I found these at my local autoparts store, but they also sell them online on ebay and amazon. (search for headrest hooks) I'm not sure if I'm allowed to post links, or I would.

They work really well to help hold bags of groceries and keep things from rolling around in the cargo area. I had some "plastidip" that I used to cover the ends with a layer of rubber/plastic to help keep them from rattling. (but with the head rest lowered, they don't rattle anyway). I also used some pliers and bent them just a bit to better fit the seat.

They are easily removed and tossed in the glove box if you need to, but they seem to do just find hanging out back there. Now bags from the store don't roll around when driving. Cheap, and easy.

I wonder if I'm the only one that does this?
On my standard Prius, I keep the rear headrests folded forward. This significantly improves rear window visibility.

I pop them upright when anybody is going to ride in the back.

This might be the only drawback for me personally using a product like this.

I don't think folding the head rests down would cause a problem. (as long as they are folding forward). The hooks are on the back. The only part that is actually under the headrest is just where the wire wraps around the metal post that holds the head rests in place.

I see you removed the roll-up cover thingy that covers the cargo area. Do they work with that installed? They look good except maybe a little low.

You've got a good eye. They are indeed a little bit long to really hold plastic bags securely, they need to be just a bit shorter in order to keep a slight tension on the plastic bag handles. I'm going to play around with trimming them and re-bending them to be shorter, and see how they perform. I think they were about $3 a pair... (which, while is outrageous for a single bent piece of wire...) is cheap enough to play around with and risk screwing up.

As far as the roll cover, only a small part of it connects to the head rest posts with small "C" shaped clips. There's plenty of room to accommodate those. These little wire hooks are thick enough to hold the weight of grocery bags, but still quite thin overall.

I forgot to mention in the post, that I got them from PepBoys, but as I said they are available on ebay and amazon as well.
