I would think so. I got the used dealership I got mine at to throw in a 100k miles extended bumper-to-bumper warranty for free. Personally, I don't care for Toyota's basic 2 year/25k warranty, especially with how much I drive.\

When I test drove a 2013, the dealer didn't seem at all interested in discussing an extended warranty, even though I couldn't believe how low their's is. This was part of the reason (besides overall price), that I went with a used Prius.

Hmmm, shouldn't the standard bumper to bumper warranty be 36 mos/36,000 miles? That's what it looks like from their website: Toyota Online Owners Manuals and Warranty

Was the place you bought from a Toyota dealer or a regular used car place?

I bought mine at a generic used car place where they supplied the CarFax as well (it turned out to be a repo-ed vehicle, no accidents).
Apparently the 2 year thing is the ToyotaCare, not the warranty, like I thought. So the dealer never discussed it with me after all XD. The Toyota dealership wouldn't even show me the few used ones they had, only a 2013.
But I am always up for a better warranty ;). I just feel good with 100k.

Looks like I"m going to be looking at either a new Prius c or a used Prius. I can't get financing through my step-dad, and I"m going to try to get financing through the dealership to see if I can beat the 13-14% I have through Capital one. If I can't do either, I guess I'll get a cheaper car.

Test drove a 2013 Prius c today. I liked how it's like a car, but can't stand where the shifter and EV/Evo buttons are at. So both the Prius and the PrRius c have issues that I have to get over. That said, both dealerships I hit today were so evasive about actually locking down an interest rate and not telling me to pick a car first (see, I thought you could get financing FIRST go fig), that it pissed me off.

So, when I go back on Monday, I'm going armed with Kelley Blue Book pricing and shooting low right off the bat. I shouldn't need to test-drive anything else unless it's a different used car (which there are a few I'm looking at).

    Winner winner, chicken dinner!

I now have a Certified 2011 Prius Two with just under 22,000 miles. Single owner and clean Carfax.

They had it for $19.3k before TTL, and after doing a test drive (and determining that the Prius c was TOO SMALL FOR ME), I told him that I wanted to see if we could swing getting the car for $20,000 out the door, before my down payment, as it'd make it where my payments were solid no matter what.

A bunch of finagling later, and we got it just above 20k, with payments at my crappy Capital One loan (72 months, 12.81% interest) of $361.

Then, I went to talk to the finance guy. Now, I had told my salesman (who was fairly low pressure the entire time) that if we could work either the price down or the financing rate down, I'd consider getting gap coverage, and if a miracle happen, I'd consider an extended warranty (fully planning not to pay the $2-3k it'd cost).

I tell this to the financing guy, and he starts typing.....five minutes later he says that he has a quote from Chase for 8.5%, which would get me gap and the extended warranty for $355. Now, I was already planning on paying $350ish for the car, so this isn't too bad a deal to me. He shows me the printout, and he also marked down the extended warranty to just over $1000, and I confirmed with him that everything was final today.

So, long story short, I now have a car. I am going back on Monday to get a free detailing, as I mentioned it was kind of dirty inside, and they said it'd take 2-3 hours to detail (and I was on a time crunch).

Now how do I do the fuel thing I've seen you guys do? :)

Sweet deal, congrats! When I was shopping for Prii, I found they hold their value really well. When I was looking at Certified 2010 cars (one owner, just off lease), I found a lot of 2010 IIIs in the 50-70k mile range for around $16-$17k. I knew I wanted a sunroof and leather, though. I was surprised to find the solar roof package and leather really kept their value and I feel I paid about the same for it used as new. I walked off the lot with my Certified 2010 IV with 39k, solar roof, leather, nav, etc. for just over $20k. I added in extended bumper-t0-bumper warranty (I think it's 8 or 10 years, 100k) and pre-paid maintenance (I just don't want to have to think about it), and all-in-all it cost me about $24k. Seems like you got a great deal for that '11 with so few miles!

This fact also contributed to my decision to buy a Prius. I was between a Prius and a 2012 Impala (I like the size and the way they drive, but it is a 6 cyl, so gas is up there. It also has remote entry and heated seats...).

Congrats on your purchase, Shinino. I am also still searching on how to get some great mileage!

I think my Prius would look MUCH better upside down. I will try that!
