Don't know if anyone else is having problems with Prius Chat tonight.

My Win 7 clone updated to the latest browser (thanks to Microshaft). Now if I try to reply to any posts, the quote feature no longer works.

I spent a couple of hours making sure all updates are loaded on the machine, but still cannot get the new browser to work correctly with Prius Chat.

Oh well, I guess for now if I post with a quote (click "reply"), I will have to copy text into my posts.

Any one else having this problem?

    System specs as follows.

Intel based Pentium 4 D945GTP Series
    Nvidea GForce 7600GS Video Card
    4 Gigs Ram
    Onboard Sound
    Windows 7 32bit Ultimate OS

    Any ideas out there?

Try adding Priuschat to compatibility view. Tools-Comp View Settings-Add

Every computer I've tried with IE 11 fails that same way. A workaround is to open the reply in a new tab.

I do not know... don't use IE. There are plenty of other browsers out you can use, unless your machine's locked down so that you can't install anything on it.

I use Chrome or Firefox on Windows machines. IE 11 has so many issues, it reminds me of when Windows as a whole was worse than it is now. I have some IT guys remarking about the integration of IE 11 with W81. YUCK! I use Windows as sparingly as I can.

Here's a place to start on the compatibility issues.

Thanks for the reply. Did not seem to help on this end. Quote showed up, then disappeared. Also cursor would not work. John's workaround seems to be working though. (right click reply, open in new tab).

Thanks for the reply. That does work, troublesome but at least does work.

Thanks for the reply. I can run whatever I want, since this is my home built clone machine. I may put Chrome in and run that. IE10 was fine. IE11 not so great. Will decide soon depending on what else is broken.

As long as MS has been in business, you would think they could get it right...

    Thanks for the reply.

I tried the compatibility mode, that made things even worse. The workaround for IE 11 is what John suggested. (right click on reply, use new tab). It is troublesome, but does work.

I am considering a alternative browser at this time. Have used Chrome and Firefox in the past. Probably go with Chrome again.

I use Chrome with Windows 7 64bit I5 procesor with 8GB ram and SSD generally runs very slick. IE 11 is terrible, with all there resources will Microsoft ever get things sorted.

    Thanks John,

I may end up putting Chrome in. For now I am using the workaround John suggested.

IE 10 worked ok, but 11 is another story.

Roll back to IE10 or IE9. I dumped IE11 almost immediately. Some programs/updates require or just work better with Explorer but it still has security issues. Chrome is best for most everything else. I found FireFox/Mozilla to be buggy at best on a good day.

    Thanks for the reply.

Been thinking of trying to uninstall it. As I said earlier IE 10 worked fine for me. I don't game on this PC, mainly just take care of business as needed as well as here on PC.

    Considering Chrome also.

For now I am using the workaround John posted above. It works best for me with IE11

Since I've been using Chrome for years now, I've never had a need to use IE or Firefox again.

Don't get me wrong, nothing wrong with Chrome. I just don't like to run extra programs if I don't need them. IE 10 works great, 11 is what broke the bank. Just fixed it by uninstalling it as suggested. IE 10 works again, like magic :) .

I learned a long time ago, the more programs you load on your machine, the slower the machine will run. Just like the Prius, the more weight in the back end, the more fuel she burns.

    Thanks for everyone's help.

Even on an older P4 system you have, Chrome will not over load your system. Trying to run to many tasks/programs at once (with in reason) should not be an issue either. There have been many advances to PCs since your technology, but for the average user's e-mail, shopping habits and forum usage will never fully utilize your's, the Best Buy POS and especially the latest and greatest computers. Your start menu (programs you choose to cache on boot up), CCleaner, and the occasional defrag will make things go a lot faster and smother. Apologizes if you already know this.

No apologies necessary. Been around the block for a while now. Only reason I run what I do is that I am retired, disabled, on Social Security and so forth.

I know Chrome wont "overload" the system. The reason I said what I did is that it is still that much more that is on the hard drive, plus more stuff added to the Wind blows registry. I have seen many a system in my time that was loaded with all sorts of needless duplicate programs. In the end it always just took up valuable space on the drives and slowed down the systems.

If I was a rich man, I would have a Mac but sometimes you just have to work with what you got.

Thanks again for everyone's help, tips, and suggestions. FWIW, I reverted back to IE 10. Everything is working fine again.

I had to roll back from Win 8.1 to win 8.0 to get IE to work. I have google Crome installed and it works fine but I like the IE.

My PC notebook isus i5 processor running win 8 touch screen with 500 gig and 32 gig SSD is ok but I tend to spend more time on my iPhone and iPad. At some point I will replace my PC with a MAC. They cost more but less issues.

I use chrome for almost all my browsing but since Google removed flash and java I have to rely on IE11 for updating my video card etc. because to find a driver for NVIDIA the "find driver" button needs either java or flash and a lot of sites are like that.
BTW, IE11 seems to run fine on both my Win 7 computers but haven't tried PriusChat on IE11.
