    Does any one know ?
New car hybrid car purchase will there be a IRS 2012-13 tax credit..
New hybrid PHEV purchase will there be a IRS 2012-13 tax credit...
Hybrid conversion to Plug-IN vehicle will there be a IRS 2012-13 tax credit?
Only USA states that appear to have favorable state tax credits are Colorado 85% for conversion and Oklahoma 10%

Obama's proposed budget has reportedly proposed $10k credit for alternate fuel vehicles such as EV and nat gas. Not sure how the details trickle down to your cases. It will be interesting to see if this element of Obamas budget is accepted.

    Well
My vantage point I see no federal tax relief "if" I got a "phv" or "phev kit" and course that is subject to future lethargic political and legislative process of which I am doubtful. I also see the business models and plans for "phev kits" undergoing some stress. That said Enginer Phev kit which is the simple and low intial cost spectrum versus Plug In Supply kit a some what more expensive cost.

Having stated that my tendency and inclinations is more toward a Plug In Supply type product and componets.

I'm as poor as a fish in the desert during the driest season of the year, so a tax credit will definitely help me and my family survive a bit longer.

Under the past rules, it was a non-refundable credit. so if you have 1500 to pay in taxes and have a 2500 credit, you LOSE. the difference $1,000. Not at all a very productive system. In fact it is almost a penalty. This could actually be the reason many people are not buying HVs and BEVs. Apparently, the Govt is fearful of being too generous, or, really does not support ". "
OR: Does not know what the HELL they want. More likely.
