SmartKey cancel button

    I just disciovered the SmartKey cancell button under the steering wheel. Can someone explain what it does and when would I use it? Also what is the proceedure for use of the Prius by car wash or parking lot attendant

    The SmartKey button is used to disable the SmartKey features. It's particularly useful if you're not using your car for a period of time by eliminating a potential source of 12V battery drain. There is a description of what this button does in the owner's manual. A search of this forum should get you procedures for parking lot and car wash attendants.

    if you feel like storing your car for more than 3 weeks (airport parking lot)... then make sure to turn it off.. it's to help conserve energy so your 12v doesn't die. Otherwise you are required to run the car about once a month for a supposed 20 minutes.. handbook material there
