Anyone know where I can find instructions for installing the mudflaps? It looks pretty straightforward, but if there any helpful hints I'm open to that. I've heard the mayors can be drilled with wheels on, but what would be the advantage of pulling the wheels first? (straighter shot with the drillbit?)

The fronts don't require any drilling.

The rears require drilling, it depends on how much clearance your drill has with the wheels on. I was able to do it with the wheels on and just drilled two holes - one on the inside fender and the other at the bottom. Line it up first and use a marker to mark your hole to drill.

    Pretty straightforward.

I'm guessing you might have the U.S. version Mudflaps. Installing the Euro mudflap version, for the rear, tree holes need to be drilled. The top hole drills thru the painted inner metal edge of the fender (1/2" in). The second screw hole is into plastic fender liner (1 3/4" in). The third drilled hole is into the plastic underneath (faces ground). Hole #1 I drilled at 7/64 so the fender could hold the screw as well as the screw clip you slide over the hole. The other two holes into just plastic, I pilot drilled smaller, just big enough to get screw started, to get maximum hold in the softer plastic. Since the lower hole was 1 3/4" in for the Euro version, I removed both rear rear wheels.

The fronts were as all have said a breeze. Undo one 10mm bolt on underside, remove two plastic push inserts on the surface facing tire. Re-install with the two 'longer' plastic push inserts. Done.

Interestingly, I found that the support to raise rear of Prius with a floor jack is a good bit off centered to the right. The right tire needed to be raised about 3" off the ground to get the left to just come off the ground. Also, the floor jack lift support is sheet metal. It looked flimsier than I would expect, but then, I guess the Prius is light and it's design is all about 'strong enough' without engineering in unneeded weight. The same thought I have when I close the door and it sounds 'tinny'. I've been to used to driving cars built more heavily than needed. I can accept and appreciate the lightness of the Prius, it is just unfamiliar to me. :D

My (soon to be installed) Rav4 side moldings will likely change the 'door close' sound. ;)

There are downloadable .pdf files of graphic instructions for installation of the "Euro" version of the mudguards on that page at PriusChat Shop, though (sadly) none for the standard US version, and none were included when I ordered them. For the US version (much smaller than the Euro version) all four corners require drilling at least one hole. The fronts can be done by angling the wheels, but unless you have a right-angle drive for your drill it's vastly easier to remove the rear wheels.
