    Hi All,

I just thought I would share pictures of my iPhone 5 mounted in my PiP using the Proclip left vent mount and holder. Some notes:
    • The Proclip uses your own lightning cable. Since it's white, I used a black sharpie to "paint" it black
    • I ran the wire along left vent/door edge so it's not that visible
    • I popped the cup holder up and ran the cable through and then back into the USB jack. There was enough room at the bottom so I didn't have to cut anything to allow the cable to pass through

That's a really nice setup Frank. Can you please post a few more pictures showing how your ran the cable up to the vent?

How did you pop the cup holder up? Was it easy to do? Did you use a special tool?

I couldn't figure out any way to pop the cup holder.

Very nice! And I'm guessing you had no problems with the connection due to the cable's extended length?

Sorry, I never saw these questions when I originally posted:
    • To remove the cup holder: Lift the armrest up. Then from the inside of the cup, pull up and slightly towards the rear with increasing pressure. It's held down with 4 clips so if you put enough umph, it will pop out pretty easily.
    • I didn't notice any loss in signal using the small USB extender cable. It sounds much better connected in iPod mode through the cable than through BT Audio link
    • I ran the wires by simply pushing them in between the dash and the left hand side frame. Nothing special.

That looks very nice. I did a similar install a short while ago with the ProClip for my Nexus 4. I used the left mount like you did and then ran the power inside the dash down to the fuse block and put in a 2A fuse for the phone. This way the USB is still available for a flash drive that stays in the car.

Do you have details/pictures of your install?
