Ooh, I have a unicorn in the garage. I have only ever seen one other PiP and that was the dealer's demonstrator. There are 867 in the UK as of today.
You think seeing a PiP at the station is rare? You oughta see the funkie looks I get pulling up to the pump in our EV (either to get coffee or 5 gallons in the jerry can for the generator). Now THAT gets 'em puzzled.
Spanning long time and distance between feedings, here is a rare PiP siting filling it's small, but efficient belly. Also of note, this PiP is naked. It has not grown 'accessories'.
I enjoy when the gas attendant yells at us for pulling up on the "wrong" side of the pump every time!
Hah! That is correct. Here in NJ there is no self service. And the vast majority of attendants I have encountered still are puzzled by the 2 "fuel" doors...
Or Coquitlam, BC, Canada (honest to God, I drive to neighbouring community gas stations, to avoid the full service BS..., for 20+ years now)
The nice thing is you will be spending the least compared to anyone else coming in that day (unless it is a prius of course )
I think I've seen one other, charging in Lincoln's Inn Fields. And I saw a Volt (not an Ampera) when stuck in traffic on the A3. Not been looking for Leafs, apparently they account for about half the EV/PHEVs in the UK. We should arrange a PiP meet. Even three or four of them together in the UK would be almost unique...
Made a ~250 mi round trip last week. When I got back towards home, refilled the half tank it cost at ~$23 and was remembering how that same trip would've required ensuring the 13-18 gal tank was full both before leaving and after getting back. Was not displeased in the slightest.
Some people might get sick of me saying this, but.... Still have yet to see another PiP anywhere in person (that's including the lot, road, or otherwise). And getting close to a year of ownership.
