I recently got a check hybrid system warning on my 2010 Prius w/ 95k on the clock. Anyway, the car seemed to be running fine until I noticed that the car engine would no longer stop at the light even after being warmed up. Since I was on my way home and only several blocks away, I decided to head there instead of the dealer. Once I got home I checked the error code, I got P0K80. Trying to do a search for it in a number of places couldn't find anything. Clearing the code, the car seems normal and is running fine. In the meantime, I'd like to know what might have popped up with my car. Anyone have any ideas or info on this particular error code? Thanks.

P0K80 is not a valid DTC. What are you using to read the DTC? You will need a Prius specific scanner to read the DTC correctly.

I have an Ultragauge. Ok, will find something else to pull the trouble code. Thanks!
Didn't even consider that my gauge my be incorrect in it's readings.

Ultragauge, like Scangauge, can only read standard emission and engine codes without a custom XGauge configured for your Prius. I have the XGauges for our 2010's if you are interested and Ultragauge can be configured for these XGauges.

Hi JD! Sorry it took so long to get back to you about this. Car has been running fine since my last posting with the exception of a hard engine knock when starting up once during the recent cold-snap we experienced up here in the north-east (winter vortex). This was explained in T-SB-0010-12 and tried to get fixed by dealer, but dealer wanted to reproduce the knock. So that didn't happen.

Anyways, getting back to original error code. At the beginning of this month, I got the same condition again, with the Check Hybrid System and the triangle warning light. I didn't have my Ultragauge plugged in this time so I wasn't able to pull the code that came up, but I brought the car into the dealer since the car was still running. Timely, as I needed to have Safety Recall E0E and D0H applied. DTC turned out to be P0A80. They ended up replacing the hybrid battery and battery filter. My car had just a tick under 100k miles. From what I understand, this would've been covered even though I have the extended warranty, because I'm in the state of NY and here, because it's battery related, would've been covered to 150k miles. Correct me if I'm wrong.

As to the XGauges, I was looking thru the Ultragauge and couldn't seem to find anywhere in the menuing system where I would add in the XGauge. Regardless, I would love to get that information from you so that I could use it when I figure out how to plug it into the unit.

The part numbers for the pieces replaced under warranty are as follows:

    G9510-47060 Battery Assy, HV Sup
    G92DH-47010 Filter, HV Battery I

Checking on Parts.com there isn't any picture of what the filter looks like, but the part is recognized. Rockauto didn't have either listed.
