Hey, I have an '06 prius with pkg 5, jus got it Feb. 11th. I don't have an ipod, I have a Dell DJ (like an ipod but i suppose should still work with the aux adapter, its an MP3 player). I want to connect it to the car but don' know how, i have to buy a cable right, if anyone could tell me what to do that would be great, thanks.

Any audio device with a stereo headphone jack can be connected. This is a pretty common cable; can be bought at Radio Shack or any computer supply store. I think size is 1/8" male stereo plug on each end (aux jack in Prius is same size/type as the headphone jack on your MP3 player). Jack is located inside your console.

Thanks Rick. I'll probably pick it up in a few days. Also I read on ur replyyou have the EV mod, does that void your warranty?

There's no definitive word that I know of about Toyota's position on the EV mod. On other threads, I've read that in the US, Toyota would have to prove that this mod actually caused the problem on a related warranty-covered repair. I have the same opinion as many others on this; the EV mod is only enabling a function that already exists in the design of the car. There are even MFD messages and beeps built into the firmware to provide feedback when EV mode is requested via the switch. It would be very difficult for Toyota to argue that this mod should void the warranty. Also, the Coastal mod is great since it can't be detected without looking for the installation under the dashboard.

In any event, just to be safe and avoid any legal hassles, if I ever have a warranty issue that I feel could even vaguely be related to this mod, I would first remove the mod (takes about 10 minutes) before taking it in for warranty work.
