    I have an 2003 prius. I bought it with front end damage, barely in to the rad. so just had some cosmetic issues. got it fixed ran it and after 5-10 mins on the road the motor revs and the brake light comes on the dash. for temp fix pull over and restart then repeat.. Thinking about getting new battery but untill i figure these codes out i'm holding off.. took to dealer for diagnostic and have some codes as follows: Engine Ect: p3191 Hybrid control p3000,p3101,b2799 HV batt. p3006: add page says unusually different batt levels Range from 13.67--15.13 ABS/VSC/TRAC C 1215, C 1241. so after all that im freaking out cause im thinking i just lost on this one. on the dia. page i have calibration #'s if that helps. pleading for help to those who know more then I.     DTC P3191 means an engine no-start condition. Try cleaning the throttle body interior and throttle plate. Do not contaminate the mass air flow sensor.

    As you already know, DTC P3006 points to a failed traction battery so you'll need to replace that battery. Don't expect the power train to operate very well until this is done.

    Ok. Where is a good place to get one ? The car had no keys so I had the dealer make new keys with changing the ecu, so will that code still be in there from then. havent had codes read since then seeing the car does not operate now..

    With purchasing a new hv battery will i recieve a credit on my old battery from whereever I purchase it from??

    If you want a new traction battery, try one of the Toyota dealers that sell at a discount over the Internet, for example
    AutoNation Toyota Gulf Freeway Parts
    You will have to move the system main relays and the traction battery ECU from the old traction battery case to the new case.

    You can also look for a remanufactured battery from a vendor that installs 2G battery modules into the Classic battery case. In this scenario, you just swap one battery case for the other.
    Dorman Hybrid Drive Batteries

    If you do not change the ECU again, then the new keys should be recognized.

    No, as a retail customer, do not expect to receive a credit. If you buy a remanufactured battery then you are expected to swap your old battery case as part of the transaction.

    Hi
    I had same issue with the battery. I watched youtube video and tools out the HV battery and replaced 3 cells which were bad after checking the voltage. I also replaced other 5 more which were marginal and it is working great. Please do not fall for the dealer pricing. It will be over $3000.00. Your car should work fine. It is generally few cells which give different low voltages and ecu throws P3006.
    Please do not freak out. If I can do it any body can and I am not even technical.

    Ok. Yes I have contacted the dealer about this and yes 3600 is stupid, and what makes it worse is they'll sell me a gen 1 battery which has been known to leak so why buy more bad parts. So yes I have the car running now after several code wipes and finally got the real codes that are the problem. cell 12-13 are leaking and so I'll just replace the whole thing from around 1300 and ill get hopefully 10+ years more out of the car. just waiting on some information from a friend where he got one from California.
