    Hi Everyone

Just thought I would say hi! Just put a deposit down on a 2011 Prius T-spirit and I collect it on Thursday. Only down 12k miles too :)

Currently drive a Civic diesel and get around 40mpg (uk mpg) where as I got 92mpg (uk) on the Prius test drive!

Is there a UK based sub forum?

    Thanks

    Hi Dave
I'm not aware of a UK forum, but then I never really looked lol.

92 mpg on a test drive probably isn't indicative of what you will actually average but you will do better than the Civic.
I get on average around 50mpg on short journeys without thinking much about how I'm driving whereas on a longish trip, say 100 miles I can often see over 70 mpg.

There are lots of people on here who get very high mpg but I think they must drive extremely carefully, not something that will endear you to the average driver in the UK lol

Is there anywhere I can get a list of standard features for this car from this year?

So I've collected the car and love it so far. Only issue I'm having is getting up to speed and keeping up with traffic and still getting good mpg. Seems it's either slow and economical OR fast enough and not great mpg.

    Any tips?

it's economical in the long haul, so getting up to speed on the motorway a few times a day isn't going to have a big effect. cruing speed, now that's a different story. the slower you go, the better your mpg's. so if you spend a lot of time cruising, stay to the right (left? ) and go as slow as traffic will allow. however, no matter the speed, you're going to do better than most petrol jobs.

How are you getting on with the balance between performance and economy?
I did a round trip today from Milton Keynes to Brooklands Museum in Weybridge, a round trip of 130 miles and
averaged 71mpg. I drove carefully in terms of acceleration but not slowly.

I used to use cruise control on the motorways as much as possible in order to get good mpg but these days I get better results without it as I can let the speed drop off on the slight uphill sections and then recover it on the downhill parts. It takes a bit.
You'll find that you will get better mpg as you get used to what works best for you on the trips you make.
