For the person that is complaining about Santa Monica Toyota. I made an appointment with them about 2 years ago to do my first Toyota Care service. When I went to drop off the car at 9AM, they told me it would be ready between 4 and 5 PM. That is with an appointment. I told them no way I am going to sit there all day for an oil change. I pulled away and called Marina Del Rey Toyota and was told I would be in and out within 90 minutes. I went straight over there and sure enough I was out of there in about 60 minutes. So try Marina Del Rey Toyota. So far I have been very happy with them.

I called my dealer yesterday at noon and confirmed an appointment at 3pm. It last about one hour. Does not notice anything different yet.

Just got mine done today. Took them about two hours. No noticeable difference in performance, although I didn't try power mode. Have to wait and see if it has any long term effect on fuel economy.

I tried power mode today when trying to get onto a busy service road, making the same turn I usually do would results in slight wheel spin off the line with the turn but I didn't get that this time. Could it be the butt dyno? Sure, but they had to change something right?

I made an appointment for Friday. Wish me luck.

Why is it that every time I have to step foot in a dealership, I feel like I'm entering hell or something?

I noticed the Battery recovering much faster as well.

It's all dealerships, I have learned to just tell the service writer that all I came in for was an oil change and tire rotation and to can the sales pitch for the extras, I tell them if they do that they will get a perfect survey with comments. That usually get's me the service without the BS.

Because it's probably as close to going there as you'll ever get in this lifetime :)

I might be seeing this too.

It seemed to be just one bar down most of the drive home.

It's a little difficult to judge because this is no longer my daily driver but the SOC did seem to hover a little higher than it used to.

Glad to hear you're back in business with the rebuilt engine. (y)

Did you get any warranty on the engine repair?

I had the recall software update done on my 2013 Prius Persona Series on Monday,02/17/2014 and since it was done there is a humming noise coming from the engine that i can hear when the car is in the electric mode. Is anybody else having this problem?

Isn't that normal inverter and inverter pump noise? Perhaps you're listening more closely because of the update? ;)

I'll watch this thread for a while before I take mine in, my son had a recall on his Civic Hybrid and his mileage went in the tank and battery died just out of warranty.

Sad to say, that's been a reported aspect of the Honda hybrid experience. I understand that there's an enormous inventory of Honda Insights (the newer Prius look-alike) out there now.
It'll be interesting to see if they pull off the new Accord hybrid successfully.

I really don't think there's any history like that with the Prius line but it seems that you don't have much risk in waiting for a while.

Had mine done on Monday. Was told it would take 90 minutes ... it took 4.5 hours. They didn't charge me for the new wipers I asked them to throw on while I was there and I got a voucher for a free Green service due to the delay. Glad I took my friend up on the offer of lunch and a movie instead of waiting.

Now that's a success story if I ever heard one. :)

Do they disconnect the battery for this procedure?

I'm more excited about them running it through the carwash today than anything.
I can barely remember what color my car is other than 'salt'.

I agree on the carwash thing.

It was clean for a few minutes.

I have no evidence of battery disconnection -- radio presets, trip odometer, etc. seem unaffected.
