I hope we made a good decision. We did some light researching after finding the Prius that was in our budget we ran to the dealership to test drive and both loved it way more than we expected to, signed papers and it is now in our driveway. We were not searching for one from the beginning. It just kind of came to us. It's a 2006, 163,394 miles, black exterior, $6700 something was the price I believe. It came to $8k with taxes, title, GAP, etc. It had one owner who purchased it and serviced it at the same dealership we bought it from. CarFax was clean. My only "uh oh" moment is we didn't check for a spare tire. It wasn't until I was reading the little quick guide that I realized oh shhh... Guess we'll find out tomorrow. The interior was immaculate. I was shocked. Normally you see things here and there and we haven't found anything really. The floor mats are used but still in decent shape for the age and price. My husband will drive this primarily because he commutes to Northern Va and DC everyday for work so he sits in traffic a lot. I commute to Richmond and it typically is just a straight shot back and forth. The only time I run into traffic is on the weekends and I will be driving it those days since we are keeping the carseats in our Escape because it's been destroyed by the kids. I drove it around this evening running errands and I really like it. The hatchback is something to get use to as is the back up camera we've never had one before but overall, we both said we want our next vehicle after the Escape to be another Prius.
Congrats on your purchase. The car seems to be great. Keep in mind the HV battery is something that will eventually wear out and will need replacement in the near future. You did mention a budget in your post so you should also budget for this expense when it occurs (assuming it hasn't already been replaced). Good luck!
Congratulations. Interesting, two brilliant minds in agreement. I've had my Prius for a year and thought I'd convince my wife on one by now. Oh well, maybe one day soon.
