Has anyone put 2012 taillights in a 2010?

I like the looks of the 2012 taillights better than the 2010.

Has anyone swapped them? Is it a direct swap? Any leads on a place to get them at a good price?

    Thanks in advance.

    Yes and yes.

IMO if you're going to bother to upgrade them, it's best to get full LED taillights like Valenti, Spec-D, etc. Really makes your Prius stand out compared to stock lights.

Being new to the Prius world (but not to the modding world), do you have a link or suggestion? I don't know of these companies. Thanks.:)

But doesn't the overall build quality suffer with these aftermarket parts? I've read about some folks with these having issues with condensation build-up issues and just the overall impression being that it's a cheap knockoff with full LEDs.

No reported condensation build-up or other issues with the vast majority of 100+ PriusChat members who've bought Valenti or Spec-D taillights. There have been a few bad apples out of the box with shipping damage, bubbling, etc. (exchangeable under warranty) but that's expected for any products.

Some of Reiver products did suffer from condensation build-up issues (hence why Panson stopped carrying them). You just need to do your research and select aftermarket parts with near OE quality. The Valenti lights aren't cheap at $400.

I might be slow, but I cannot find taillights for the prius on the SPEC-D link.

You probably looked in the Taillight section instead of LED Taillight section.

Those look nice but the website is missing an important piece of information, price and how to order!

Make it easy to say yes. That is my mantra.

I know this is an old thread, but does anyone have a price on the OEM replacement taillights for 2012+?

FWIW, I'm really disappointed with my Spec-D lights. The passenger side brake light is dim to the point that you can't see it.

I like the look of the stock 2012+ taillights the best.

I too am considering replacing my 2010 tailights with a stock OEM 2012 tailight. 100% direct fit yes?
