Sorry you didn't hear from me, I tried to contact everyone whose order I thought was placed on backorder before I put up the message stating that they were on backorder.

check out the link to the left of your screen or in my post....it

I did a search for bt plates in our search engine.. it came up with "one" occurence?... thats kinda sucky....

Anyway, there is alot of good discussion on it if you can find it. It replaces the factory plate underneath your car with one thats much stronger and stiffer to give you a better and more stable ride while cornering, strong gusts, road tracking etc.

I posted a question challenging how the prius could possibly drive any better, but many feel it makes a difference, so I went ahead and bought two "one for each car".

I went back to see if I had just forgotten "since it had been awhile I wouldn't put it past me!" but the history of any correspondence was gone.

    thanks for chiming in.

I am sure you will, but please let us know if you feel they improve ride, esp. with regards to road tracking.

    Thanks,

Yea I also am interested to hear your comments about the ride changes for your 06's. This is something that I have been thinking about for a while now, and I think with the reccomendation from someone like yourself ;) thats the last piece of justification for me!

My car tracks just fine now.. but sometimes I get on a freeway that has ruts in it from winter studs that have eaten away the cement and so the surface is uneven. Based on where your road position is, the car can become unstable a bit as one tire may be high while the other is low etc. The ruts made are typically a little wider than the prius, so you can never be in the perfect spot, completely in or out of the ruts.

Its barely noticable, but I will be fun to see if that improves.

rox0rin'. For those who don't quite understand what the plates
are for, take a piece of paper and bend it into a half-pipe the
long way, and then note how easy it is for the whole "tunnel" to
twist longitudinally as the edges of the paper move relative to each
other. Now put the edges of your half-pipe down on a carpet, and
see how much more rigid it is with the edges constrained against
    moving or tilting.
    .
That's what the plate does to the "U" down the middle of the car.
It's not a 100% guarantee of a completely stiff chassis, but this
might aid in seeing how it helps. When the *chassis* is more rigid,
the *suspension* can do its job better and maintain design angles.
    .
This comes from part of a very entertaining conversation Brian and
I had a couple of weeks back...

How much are they to purchase and install? Do they adversely affect warranty?

Definately would not hurt warranty... only make it better if anything... its far better than the stock plate.

Installing up to you.... its very easy, but if you have not way to get underneath then anyone who can do that will be your charge.

    Takes a few minutes.
