Would anyone have instructions or removing/installing the driver's seat belt on a 2013 Prius 2? Thanks in advance.

I highly discourage any attempt at replacing and/or doing anything to your seat belt. If I remember correctly, seat belts on Toyotas are covered for life as it is a major safety equipment required in every state. Take it in to your dealership if you have issues. Why would you risk your safety by messing with it yourself? I truly hope no one provides any of this information to you.

Thanks for your reply and your advice. You could have done it in a more respectful way, I'm not a child.

Please see attached text excerpt stating steps needed to replace seatbelt. It's involved. If you subscribe at alldata.com you can see all the illustrations and the references to trim disassembly. That said, the Prius does have pyro pre-tensioners on all its belts, and you may have to re-initialize using special dealer interface after the replacement. If an airbag has ever deployed then perhaps all of the seat belt pre-tensioners have fired.

There's a small tear in the seat belt fabric.

Thanks for the info. No airbag deployment, just a small tear starting in the fabric. It definitely looks like something the dealer should do. I'm hoping they'll do it under warranty.

Is there an update to this thread? My dog chewed my passenger seat belt, and I ordered a new toyota replacement through EBay as the dealer quoted $400, just for the belt.
    What happened in your experience?

If you follow the directions in the PDF file above it's pretty easy job. Practice removing the pyro pre-tensioner on the old belt assembly before using the new one. It was easier than I expected. My safety system reset itself without having to go to the dealer.

It's even more simple on a 2013 than the PDF states. Used only a 12 and a 10mm socket and a small screw driver for the pre-tensioner and was done in about 30 min. Dealership in CA quoted 319 + tax, total cost to me was $95 for an OEM unused seat belt from a auto recycling facility. Totally worth it.

After disconnecting the negative battery terminal, just pop off the scuff plates, remove the weather stripping, and set to work on the center pillar and of course the bolts securing the belt. It was pretty straight forward. The only thing that gave me pause was unlocking the pre-tensioner because I had never seen one before, but having done it once now it's a no-brainer (The locking mechanism pulls out perpendicular to the pre-tensioner, just wedge a small screw driver between them and pull outward).
