Car slightly collided when parked? Any damage to the transmission?

My car was parked on the side of the street. My neighbors car parked behind mine. Unfortunately, a car crashed on the left side of my neighbor's car, pushing it to the right onto the curb, then possibly hit/scratched my car on the left rear bumper, and drove away. The only damage on the car is as you see on the attached pic. There is no dent on the bumper, and the bumper stays in place. Just a little scratch you see in the picture.

To be honest i am not sure whether the damage is from the shattered pieces from the car OR the hit-and-run guy actually hit my car with his?

The photo is what I took right after the accident. In fact there was some slight scratches at that spot before the accident happened.

If any chance, my car was slightly(?) hit by hit-and-run car, do you think my car suffered from other damages other than the damage on the picture? Will the transmission have any damages? What about car frame? My car did not seem to be hit from my opinion...

Hope to hear what you guys think. Capture.PNG

Not likely. The Prius does not have a mechanical "parking pawl" like a conventional automatic transmission.

drive the car for a week with no radio on windows rolled up see how it feels really test drive it put it through its paces and see if you feel the same as it did on day one and also you could take it to your mechanic or toyota dealership and have it checked out for your own peace of mind

With such a minor scuff, your car probably didn't even hardly move. I wouldn't worry.

I suspect the bumper cover flexing was the only movement on your car. If your car was moved there would be a creased or crumpled panel.

Seeing the damage I also think that big rounded bumper absorbed the shock. Any securing pins broken?

So how is the transaxle locked when the vehicle is un-powered?

I does have a park pawl. It's just electrically actuated.

Not quite the traditional pawl but a rotation lock indeed. This thing really needs a manual override so that the vehicle can be readily towed if dead, without dragging wheels or inserting wheel dollies. What was Toyota thinking?
