Blew Stock 2013 JBL Amp, JBL MS-8 now?

    I usually listen to music from the phone through bluetooth. The volume on my bluetooth was set really low. Not paying attention to the volume level I increased it to the maximum level on the stock HU. Since it wasn't loud and not knowing the HU was maxed out, I increased the bluetooth volume on the phone and it made a really loud sound. The HU would function and work perfectly fine but sound or volume would display on the screen. After looking up symptom of blown amp on the stock JBL, I believe I blew the amp.

    The problem is I have aftermarket speakers and subwoofer connected to my stock system. I have a feeling that the dealer will not warranty this as it was due to user error and I have modified the stock system.

    I noticed that the stock amp is about 700 bucks, I was wondering if I can run the JBL MS-8 without the stock amp in place? Have anyone here done this? This will be a cheaper and better solution for me, but I do hope that the dealer will replace the stock amp out of good well since I barely just got my car.

    Have you ever put a though about checking the fuse panel? or maybe an internal amplifier fuse?:sneaky:

    It does work once in awhile but only a few of the speakers work and absolutely no mid range or bass is being played.

    Could it still be the fuse?

    I would check. Pull them out and see if the link is burnt.

    I am out of luck with the dealer. The fuses aren't blown either. Can I get an aftermarket amp to replace the stock amp?

    I have a stock amp JBL amp that's laying around. I recently upgraded my whole system and removed the stock amp. Let me know if you're interested.
