Toyota/Lexus hybrid unit sales history (USA)

    Which is when they started whining about parts.

    They're not selling many, but for entirely different reasons than Toyota. I think Toyota would love to have Ford's troubles in that area.

    My point was that SUV sales across the board are down... hybrids included.

    my sister works for Ford and i can assure you there is not a dealer within 200 miles that has any problems selling the FEH

    Before calling the 400h and Highlander bombs, shouldn't we take the trouble to find out what Toyota's sales predictions actually were?

    "Toyota's Farley says the company expects to sell 20,000 Highlander Hybrids to U.S. consumers this year." - AutoWeek, 7/13/05

    Actual sales: 17,954

    "Lexus expects to sell 20,000 to 24,000 RX 400h models in the United States in 2005." - Forbes Magazine, 1/11/05

    Actual sales: 20,661

    So the Highlander is 10 percent below projections, and the Lexus is on target but on the low side. These cars haven't been huge hits - and I agree with Johnnycat on the reasons - but they clearly haven't missed "by a mile."
