    So did I..... before my first patrol.
    After that it was a little bit harder to work up much enthusiasm for the gig.

    While it's true that the ride is MOSTLY airliner smooth at depth NOTHING rolls like submarine!!! :eek:
    Me too.
    Been on both.

    Don't forget the Ron Jon sticker for the pilothouse. :)

    Wave at the Lamp Post Lounge for me.
    P-Can was my VERY first 'liberty' port.....about a zillion years ago. I actually flew to Las Palmas (Canary Is) and rode the ship back, but La Palma doesn't count because I flew there.
    I wasn't even old enough to buy a drink, but they really didn't much care back then.
    The place was pretty much a hole back then. When I last visited PCan (200?) it hadn't changed much.

    Enjoy the visit!

    we went there some 20 years ago. bad memory, tiny visitor's center, crappy bus ride around the launch sites, most interesting thing was the eagle's nest the driver pointed out. we heard that disney was going to be sub contracted to run it, not sure if it happened or what it's like now, but i hope it's better. the good news, weather improvement coming!

    Or the icebreaker crossing the Drake Passage on the way to Antarctic :eek:
    or .. the empty containership anchored at the coast of Portugal... 30-35 degrees each side... less than 10 seconds rolling period...

    ;)

    No idea what's the sticker is :sick: .. edit: OK Googled - well - in couple of days will cross Atlantic again - eastbound - it'll be a surf with westerly gales - sure I'll look for appropriate decals ;)

    But my Second Mate and one A/B was old enough - gee - one lost his cabin keys the other shore pass and photo ID. They are like kids - only booze and girls in mind! :D

    Thanks - will do my best - just tried American beer - something giligili in a shopping mall restaurant.. hold on, where is a small piece of paper with the note.. got it! Yuengling amber lager! Initially I thought that is Chinese (name!) But I must admit - good stuff !

    And the cherry on top. The parking lot in front of shopping mall - maybe not packed with Prii, but I saw at least six of them - all gen III, mainly dark gray - nice color. And one white V. Cool!

    I'll stick to the good news only. Hey! they say there are some IMAX shows (included in entrance fee) - I can pay for popcorn though... :whistle:
    Anyway... this is a historical site, whatever.. I remember the day when Neil Armstrong stepped from the ladder to the Moon's surface. I was 10, we spent our vacations time, my Parents, my Bro and the crowded room in remote village in Eastern Poland surrounding small B/W TV. Before Apollo. missions Mercury, Gemini and names... Carpenter, Grissom, Shepard, Schirra, Glenn.. the list is long...
    I think such things will never happen again. Forget about Mars missions, Moon exploration. The mankind is loosing the spirit. And the procedures, safety rules, "wear the helmet" or "the coffee is hot" stickers everywhere are taking over, instead of just "LET'S DO IT!"

    I wish but not. Besides - mine is black. Just Priusspotting on the way - it was a good sign for me at the beginning of the day. Arriving to the site and first car ahead of us was that Prius :)

    Hey! Thanks. I'm back on the Ocean.
    day 1: Coast Guard inspection on board, evening time short visit to the mall tasting American beer;
    day 2: Space Center visit;
    day 3: preparation for sailing, end of cargo ops and eventually - bye bye Florida.

    Coming back yuppee!! One more round, hope this time will be time enough to Lamp Post Lounge. At the moment experiencing high seas west of Finisterre. Unbelievable - they installed new facility on board - internet on the open sea ... 25USD / 50 Mb transfer :eek:

    At first the outstanding item - to see the "Atlantis" - last time omitted. Then - maybe Mickey, or (closer) the Lounge to buy some drinks for my guys - my birthday at sea was dry due to our company policy :sick:
