Hello everyone, after two years in my 2012 Prius Two, I traded over to a Hybrid Camry. I love the Prius and everything I learned here and to those I have helped, I hope you enjoy yours cars. I need more space in the drivers seat and a few other things. Overall I took a small hit on milage, about 6mpg, but the Camry is nice. I wont be over here anymore unless I need some answers, but anyways it has been real fun.

You know, I think I spent about 3+ years...maybe more, hanging around Prius Chat, while I owned a Honda Fit.
There is a LOT more to Prius Chat..then JUST "Prius Chat".

You still own a Toyota Hybrid, with the added experience of now having owned a Prius. I would urge you to stick around. Your experience actually expands your POV.

I think Prius Chat is a good gateway to what's happening within all of Toyota, as well as the entire automotive industry. If something happens...somebody posts it, somewhere.

Anyway, I wouldn't think Hybrid Camry ownership now excludes you from Prius Chat participation. But I also find expanded value in Prius Chat beyond just gaining specific Prius information.

My next door neighbor drives a Prius v and really loves it. However, he traded in a 2007 HyCam for it and still pines for the seats and some other features like dual AC control. Enjoy the new ride - its a great car!

With the warmer weather, my mpg is going up. 46.2 on the way in today (calculated by mfd).

I've been thinking about the Hycam, hybrid Avalon, or hybrid Accord, but wonder about losing the cargo space & flexibility of the Prius. I suppose my Ridgeline or my wife's Fit could handle those needs, but...

Oh, the Avalon is beautiful. That's what I really wanted but, got too good of a deal on the HyCam. I do miss the flexibility of the Prius but, I can always borrow my son's 2005. :)

So far the TCH is very cool, It is a good upgrade, I dont have to fall out of my car to exit, I'm 6 foot. You do lose a bit in the trunk since there is no wide open space like the Prius had when the seat are down. Also less blind spots in the front. Rear speakers way in the back deck of the car, audio fix needed. Nice and quiet drive.

Just curious. What is the difference in the Prius and Camry hybrid System.

    ....

the new gen Camry Hybrid also has a beltless engine. Both are Hybrid Synergy Drive, same thing really.

Basiclly the same system, the ICE is 2.5L, and it feels like it. The bigger engine and heavier weight, thats where the mileage goes down, that 2.5 in a prius, that would be a racer.

FWIW, the power in the Gen III Prius is much greater than the power in the Gen II Prius. Drive in Eco Mode and Normal mode is very similar to Gen II power and feel. But hit the Power Mode and OMG. It is like they put a turbo under the hood. Plenty of response, especially off the line. I typically drive the Gen III in Eco Mode as I like the feel of it and fine control of the go pedal vs the HSI display.

    Sorry for getting off topic.

Power Mode makes the car feel zippy in 30 to 40 speed limit type areas. 'Bout it. Mine still felt pretty wheezy while changing lanes and speeding up ahead of that thing approaching in the other lane today.

I could not possibly agree with you more on the bolded print above. At least the Camry Hybrid XLE* offers a much more comfortable driver's seat. At this point, Gen III liftback power driver seat is worse than the all new Corolla manual adjust dr. seat.

My new saying is 'Friends don't recommend a Prius (liftback) to tall friends'. Shorter folks, I don't know, I'm not one of them.

Best solution so far is to migrate to a well used Camry Hybrid, but it better be cheap. 0% chance I'd buy a Camry Hybrid new.

    * Camry Hybrid LE has manual ajdust dr. seat. Buy those at your own risk.
