So... Just bought a 2014 Prius and find this recall.. I'm wondering if the dealer fixed this problem before selling the car... Today is Sunday,,,will need to call dealer Monday. I guess.

The new cars were on a stop sell order and had to be fixed prior to delivery or were fixed at the factory before shipped. You've most likely received the update.

I took my car for state inspection and the dealer detected the recall in my car. They finished both the software update as well as the inspection in less than 20 minutes. Today I get the recall notice that says it takes about 40 minutes. I really wonder whether the dealer did really perform the recall.

    ^ Maybe.

When I got ours done, I'd just settled in with a Sudoku in their waiting area and got told the car was ready. And it had been run through their car wash as well. I was a little taken aback, thought it was too fast.

But then the first few times starting the car there was a warning to check hybrid system (which cleared, they did something), so I know something happened, anyway.

I had this done and now my best gas mileage for over the last 1000 miles is just slightly over 38mpg. I'm thoroughly pissed off!

I did the recall in 2019 the car had similar Loss of power. I just noticed in hybrid assistand the dcl became 22kw instead of 30 that it used to be.. so I assumed this was the recall lowering the high amp draw... I asked here in Prius chat about it and some refered that some guys had complain about power loss etc but I just found your reply here that describes what I've noticed to... So the car I stead of 10s for 0-100 it takes 12s.... The only difference is that in my case... in ev mode the ice kicks is sooner before full fill the 2 bars (before power bar) with message excessive acceleration displayed in combined meter lcd... althought the voltage of the battery is high 232v(after going down a stip hill and alot of Regen) also the temp is normal (like 35c)...

In your quote from @Noibs he mentions that electric-only seems to happen easier, post update. I noticed this as well. My wife too, and I hadn't said anything to her beforehand. So double-blind, if that's the term.

So less inverter stress. Maybe more battery stress, since it's called on more/sooner?
