Should be around $59.00 USD + domestic freight. Let me import a pair to make sure they fit our Prius. I will post here again once I have an affirmative answer.

Over this past two years as a Prius owner I've come to accept the differences between my many former Audis and Saabs and my Prius. The one exception to these acceptances though is the wimpy Prius horn. It's embarrassing.

Just tell me where I can buy this new item and I'll happily be first in line for purchase.

I'd also be interested in getting a real sounding horn :)

:) That just means you are lucky enough to have never been in a situation in which you need to alert another driver about a potentially dangerous situation...like someone slowly drifting over into your lane. I've had this happen several times. Sometimes I'm so shocked that it is happening that I forget to honk the horn and just move evasively to avoid a collision. After the fact, I wish I had thought of honking my horn first and then swing my car away only if the other driver didn't respond to the honk.
I agree with you though, if what you were trying to say is that people shouldn't use their horns as a way to vent anger/frustration. :)

I've only had to use the horn once, when a driver who was on her cell phone traveled across 4 lanes of traffic from the right lane to the left lane without bothering to signal or look to see if traffic was clear, and cut me off, going about 20 mph when the rest of traffic (including me) were going 45. I cannot recall how the horn sounded as I slammed on my brakes to avoid hitting her.

Does the Prius stock horn sound like the button on the right, or the one on the left? I can't read Japanese. :) They both sound good to me, I like the one on the left the best. Better than my former super wimpy Saturn horn which was very embarrassing to have to use.

Yep, it's the wimpy one on the right. I don't use mind very often, but the first time I did I thought to myself ... boy that is wimpy :)

I remember the first time I used my horn, a big black pickup entering the freeway just about forced his way into my lane like he privately owned the freeway and I shouldn't be on it (you know how those gas-guzzling-lifted-truck people get when they see a puny little hybrid on their highway) so I gave him a taste of my brand new Prius' horn... let's just say I embarrassingly moved out of the way (althought the Prius horn is far better than the horn on the Insight I had, even my mechanic that had an Insight just like mine would drive my car into the shop honking the horn laughing saying that it probably has water in it but I never bothered to replace it). I would love to have a horn that says "get the hell out of the way" and this is probably a good enough solution for me, at least it sounds more like a normal car. Have these horns been tested yet, and are they currently available? Thanks!

I just added the PIAA sports horn and as indicated in other posts installation is pretty easy. Make sure to attach the supplied grounding wires to the lower tab on each horn. I think it sounds alot like the horn on the left. I recommend taking out the two pins on the passenger side of the grill and then have someone help you by gently pulling it out a bit.
