There's nothing like coming down out of the Rockies for 100MPG bar after bar after bar...

I haven't done that yet, or even three 99.9 bars visible on one screen, but this morning I had my first "three 99.9 bars on my 32-mile commute" experience. The first two were consecutive and were the result of really slow traffic; the third was one that I often get on a particular downhill stretch.

Yeah, you know, maybe I would actually catch up with EricGo's FE if the wife drove the Prius more than 1% of the time! She is a natural at the hybrid thing, getting over 60 on that tank on her first time driving the Prius. Think how dramatically she might overshoot the EPA's estimates if she drove it all the time! <_<

(hey tripp, could you please come retrieve the needle you left jabbed in my side? thanks)

Oh yes I remember my first 100 mpg 5 minute bar. A nice 5 minute / 3 mile trek keeping the car in EV mode and under 40mph.

Now I have a memory that is more than twice as good, two bars, back to back, for a total of 10 continuous minutes, averaging 100mpg! Wish I had a camera for that one!

I should have gotten my first 100mpg bar yesterday (I just hit 300 miles on my odo) but for some reason it didn't show up. I was in traffic going 6-10mph for a couple miles due to a lane closure for the Caltrans mower. When it came time for the 100mpg bar, the consumption graph was totally blank for that 5 minute chunk. Is this a bug? Or a function of going so slow?

that is strange, should have had something...now going slow wont necessarily do the trick, its better if going downhill slightly at higher speeds.
