I've owned my 2006 for just over a month now, and have had occasional problem locking the drivers side door using SKS. Simply put, sometimes when getting out of the car (really, most of the time), I'd have to press the little black button anywhere from 2 to 5 times. Never a problem with the passenger or hatch buttons, so I assumed I might have a flaky button.

I now suspect differently. I think after parking the car, that I am managing to open the door, slip out, and close the door, without moving far enough away for the interior SKS sensor to loose track of the fob. With the fob in my right pocket, I think standing just outside the car, the fob's still assumed to be inside the car.

    Anyone else have similar problems?

if it assumes the fob is still in the car, you should get a long beep telling you so. are you hearing the beep, or no sound?

If the keyfob is in the hand you using to pushing the black button, it is too close. If the keyfob is next to something like a cell phone there could be some well documented interference. Try holding down the button longer than just a quick jab . . . that seems to have solved the problem for me.

My 2005 occasionally does the same thing, and also sounds one long beep to indicate it's confusion. If I move about a half-step out from the door before pressing the button, it seems to always work exactly as expected.

I think there is a second or two delay before it will accept a press of the lock button.

Yeah, it seems to work better for me if there's a delay or a longer push.
