On the last trip to the dealer for work, they didn't completely replace the driver's vent cover. Now it's sticking up. I know that it just snaps in, but don't want to break anything, so could anyone tell me where to push, pull, poke or otherwise to pop this completely off and replace?

If it looks like it's lined up properly but just isn't snapped all the way in all you need to do is firmly press it until it snaps into place. If it isn't lined up properly then gently but firmly pull it away, realign the various tabs and press in.

But, I'm glad you asked as this provides me an opportunity to ask some kind soul to PLEASE point me to the thread that has the PDF for the dash disassembly and the link to the other site that similarly shows how to take apart the dash. I was going to add that to the files section and print it off for posterity, but I've searched every reasonable forum and just can't find the dang thing to save my life for some reason.

Is it really just as easy as "grab somewhere and pull gently?"

More like "pull firmly" but that's the idea, yes. It is only held in with clips. I'd just push if it appears to be lined up. Probably just one didn't snap into place.

    Great, that worked! Thanks.

Looks like the proke one of the tabs and it was jammed. My advice, avoid Toyota of Dallas, TX for repairs.

Try a search using the term "Eddie Bell". Also check out the Metropn website. The XM satellite radio link has install instructions that describe disassembling the dash in detail.

Me, and a cow-orker, and at least one other person here (Charles?) recommend the service department at Toyota of Richardson.

Efusco, from our FAQ in the audio section is Chris's dissembly guide.

And, I've just added the link to Eddie Bell's guide too.
