I graduated with Jim Boeheim from Syracuse, having been leader of the basketball pep band my last year. Dave Bing was recruited the year after Boeheim, and the Orange was launched into top 25 basketball.

Boeheim is the most phlegmatic man I've ever known.

UCLA, of course. No one will ever repeat the domination my Bruins had under John Wooden, but Coach Howland has brought defense and a winning attitude back to Westwood and the Bruins are on their way back. There will be a 12th banner in the new Pauley Pavillion - it's just a matter of time.

My team is Ohio State - for both the men's and women's teams. This year is the first year that any Big Ten school has ever won the Big Ten championship for both men's and women's basketball in the same year (and football as well!), so I'm going to have to say that I see both the men's and women's teams making it pretty far in the tournament, with the women's team making it to the Final Four for sure. Go Bucks!

as far as colleges go, will probably always be a U-Michigan fan. despite having lived in WA state for several years now, just dont feel the same about the Huskies...(i think its left over hatred from the year that Michigan lost to WA in the Rose Bowl to blow their nat. championship hopes...again.)

    The Bruins are looking good.

The Pac-10 regular season champs took the Pac-10 Tourney title as well, holding their opponents in those three games to 53 points per.
    Next stop San Diego.... woot.

Pretty obvious who my team is, although I will have to be rooting for them in the NIT. As far as the Big Dance I will just have to root for the other Big 12 teams, although I anticipate not rooting long for OU. Ideally, would have a Kansas-Texas final, with a Texas win. (That way we can say we beat the National Champs by double digits :D ).

Of the dark horses, watch for the Gaels of Iona

Of a major but but bubble team, the Pirates of Seton Hall.

    Love Duke since Bobby Hurley.

Hey Galaxee, name the team with a lifetime undefeated record vs Duke??
The Peacocks of St Peter's of Jersey City NJ!! (last time played 68/69 NIT)

15 minutes until the selection show.....is your team on the Bubble? Where do you want your team to go?

I expect my Bruins will get a 3 seed, though 2 or 4 would not shock me, and that as a protected seed they will end up in the closest pod - San Diego.

Maybe I'll get to go to the first or second game, though since I am not a basketball season ticket holder and/or athletic department donor, that ticket lottery is stacked against me.

i see us making the final 4... where it goes from there will depend on who the other 3 teams are.

My husband is a major KU fan! GO JAYHAWKS!!!! :D

All I can say is I like college basketball WAY better than baseball, which is his other favorite sport. Blah to baseball. Way too long and dull for the non-fan to sit through. I'll watch his basketball games with him and enjoy it. He's on his own for baseball. :p

I should mention that I like all sports IN PERSON. It is watching them on TV that I find dull for the most part. I'm not much of a TV person anyway.

You should go to the games this weekend in San Diego - the 2nd and 5th seed pods are there - that's some good basketball - and all potential opponents for your team up in Oakland.

My Bruins got the second seed, woot. I think that the first three rounds set up pretty well for them and they may very well be playing your Jayhawks in the Oakland region final if KU rawk shawks Memphis.

I should go to the games this weekend in San Diego. I just don't think my date will find that fun - he's not much of a sports guy.
