Oh Yeah, these inexpensive knock-offs are ideal for carving and fitting.
I think I paid $120 for OE mud flaps for my wife's Prius V- I was not gonna cut into those.

has anyone bought any color-matched spray-paint? I want to paint the mud guards such that they really match the body color.

    would this work?

I've had them done at a body shop before with the color code to insure they match and that the paint doesn't fall off… on the Prii, I've left them black and my 4Runner they are black….

Not sure how to post a picture here. I made these for my new C. Complete with screws 60 bucks uncoated and delivered (mainland USA) and 75 bucks powder coated semi gloss black. No guarantees - I have had mine on for only a week or so.
They screw into 2 plastic fasteners that are existing. Screws are stainless. Takes 10 minutes to put them on. 208-375-5272 if interested.

Installed the fronts this afternoon. 10 minutes because of this thread. May or may not install rears. Thinking when I rotate tires will be perfect time.
Thanks again for the excellent photos and instructions. I love the way these pull right up and mold to the body.

I honestly think that matching mudguards are *not* going to look very good, but if you decide to do it, there is a special primer available for flexible plastic parts that should be used to ensure that the paint does not eventually delaminate and peel off due to the flexible nature of the guards.. Alternatively, if you go to a custom paint shop with your car's paint color code, and tell them it's for a bumper, many shops can fill a spray bomb for you with a flexible grade of paint that does not require a special primer.

Thanks for the info in this thread. I ordered what I thought to be the same mud guards off amazon. The photo was the same. But I just got them and they are a little different. Held up to the car they seam to fit so I am going to try them out. But I was wondering if you do anything to the edge that touches the car. It's a little sharp and wondering if it will scratch the car paint. What do you think?

I didn't do anything, I pulled the guard so that it was as close to the body as possible and then I screwed the bottom screw to hold it in place. I wrote a thread on my install with pics…. See if that helps…

I took four pictures for you but I am not good at uploading. These things are slick and really don't stick out. No one would ever notice them but a person like us. Just stretched them out and screwed them on. AND, I notice much less "mudsling" on the car now. Great buy and easy install.
Thanks to those who traveled ahead of me and showed me the way.

Paint holds up really well… just make sure the body shop does not paint the inside where all the debris gets kicked up and hits. That part will chip. It's harder for them because they can only paint out the outside portion and have to mask off the others and still paint all the way to the edge and make it look good but the payoff for you is it looks OEM and the inside of the guard doesn't start flaking and peeling because of tire dressing, road grime and stones and such constantly bombarding them as you drive down the road.

Looks good on some cars, not all…

Had these done for a buddy of mine…. Sorry Prii owners yes its a Mazda not a Prius lol These mudguards are normally black but had them painted to match the color of the car.

So, you're saying that if I put a set of painted mud flaps on my Prius, it will turn into an amazing looking Mazda 6 with unbelievably perfectly mated wheels?

Definitely the best looking Mazda 6 I've ever seen.

if these are soft and flexible paint will look good but if they are bumped or bent in any way the paint will crack and look like spiderwebs. I had it done on some stiff plastic mudflaps and slowly hit a large speedbump and they shattered. I had them done professionally and with flex paint
