Not exactly pulse and glide, but I do quick accelarate with power mode and steady at lower gas, then repeat. Seem like increase about 5 MPG. Just tried once yesterday, got my new record 60mpg mostly highway (my best on highway was ~55mpg, due to many extreme steep mountains). Need to do more to verify it.
p&g in town, and slower speed zones. on hwy I just drive regular with slowing as I reach to top of hills and coast down hill charging as much as I can without slowing too much. otherwise normal. I have tried to drift off the back of trucks ect. usually doesn't help much. one time in our camry hybrid I was able to follow a large motorhome towing a car behind. I was able to get great mpg at 70 mph, following about 50 feet. that is really the exception for me. so I stopped trying the drifting trick. for it to work really good I had to be too close and it increases my stress too much. "one foot on the brake and one on the gas hey there's too much trafic I cant pass," its kinda like being in a race because you are feet from the next car and the stress is high, yet you are going really slow and other cars and the truck driver get So I suggest pick your speed and drive. if you slow your speed a little your mpg will go up a little. when you are off the highway where the trafic allows p&g
My work commute is 30 miles each way. This morning I got 67 mpg going to work and 59 coming back. Almost all highway... if I keep 65 mph or slower and drive gentlely.... this isn't unusual in warm weather (but not using a/c). SCH-I535 ?
